Quilter's Haven, Bountiful Utah

Saturday we went to visit one of my daughters that lives north of us in Bountiful, Utah. Not even 5 minutes away from her house is one of the nicest quilt stores in our area - Quilter's Haven. The store is light and bright and their displays are really fabulous. The fabric selection is great, too.

Wouldn't you know I forgot my camera! I did have my phone so I used that to take some pictures. Not the best- but it was my phone or nothing.
I love this apple quilt that they have hanging in the front of the store. You can't really tell but the fabric of each apple is different and it is so well made. I think this was my favorite quilt in the store.

Edit - This quilt is a version of a pattern from Cyndi Walker's book "Spotlight on Scraps" . A fabulous book - I have it.
Decorated dish towels all hanging in a row and so cute.
They had the sweetest giant cupcake pincushion. The picture really doesn't do it justice.
This looks like I took the picture in black and white. But no, it's all black and white fabric. They had a fabulous selection. I know Jackie is doing a black and white challenge for 2009 and I really need to join in. She even started a new blog for the challenge- go check it out.
Look how cute that yellow goes with the black and white. Red is the obvious color I would pick as a compliment color with black and white but I'm thinking I really like that yellow a lot.
This machine is beautiful - a work of art. I wanted to pick it up and make a mad dash for the door.
In the front of the store they had some newer lines of fabric displayed. They had every single color way of Sandi Henderson's Farmer's Market fabric - I hadn't seen all the colors up close before at one store. I had to get a few fat quarters. I could have sworn I saw some of Sandi's fabric on a TV show the other night (pajamas) but she said it was only a similar print.
This was taken next to the front door. Everywhere you look in this store there is something wonderful and beautiful. If you ever get the chance to drive near this area, you've got to stop here. The store is right off one of the I 15 exits - don't ask me which one though, but it is easy to find, and worth it.

If you click this last picture you can better see the "man chair" next to the door - I thought that was funny. But smart.

I love the name Bountiful. When we move again I may pick the town by it's name...and close proximity to a quilt shop of course! Lots of great goodies in the ship. I do like the apple quilt a lot.

This looks like a wonderful shop! I wish it was closer to me. Oh well, I can live vicariously through you. I love the black and whites you found for the challenge. Did you pick some up??? I have some of that Black and White and yellow fabric, great compliment to one another. By the way, so glad you joined, sent the invite to you this morning. Looking forward to seeing what you will make!

Thank you for the fun field trip to Bountiful. You are very fortunate to live in Utah...such a remarkable state...a favorite of mine.
And thank you for posting the source for the directions for the house ornaments in your previous post. Those are wonderful!

I just wish it wasn't sixteen hundred and thirty-four miles away from me. :-( I would visit there for SURE! There is nothing at all like that around here.
So excited that you joined the B&W group! It is going to be terrific fun.. and we have a whole year.

What a fun trip! The store is gorgeous! Wouldn't it be fun to hit the lottery and just do a year long quilt shop hop?
Okay if I win the lottery I will save a spot for you on the bus =)

Hey, that's my LQS. I use to sew displays for them. In fact Ruth Ann, now retired, is the person who got me started making patterns. Aren't they the neatest people. Ruth Ann and now Joni have emaculate taste.

We have a Quilter's Haven quilt shop in the Twin Cities that's one of my favorites and now I am going to add this Quilter's Haven to my list of "Shops to hit on retirement road trip". :-) Could be awhile before we make that trip so glad you had your camera along and we could "shop" along with you. I was in a shop in Lake Forest, CA that had two "man chairs". :-)

My local quilt shop is also called Quilter's Haven but it's a long way from your's. It's in the beautiful county of Suffolk, England. I like the sound of the black and white challenge, I'll go check it out.

I discovered that awesome shop just last month. My daughter was doing wedding dress shopping across the parking lot and I would never leave for home without a walk through the quilt shop. When I finally said "yes" to the dress of her dreams, she snuck back over to the quilt shop and bought me a book I had been drooling over.

What a great shop trip - thanks for sharing, Nanette! At least they had a "man chair" - some shops don't have anything. My favorite one is in Anacortes, WA where they have a large section of cushy chairs, "guy" magazines and a TV for sports shows!
Do you happen to remember who made the pattern for the apple quilt? I really have a thing for anything apples! Cheers!

This is now the closest quilt shop to my house. The do have a great selection of fabric. They also have really good sales in the basement. I can always find 30s fabric down there and usually a lot more. I think the 5th Saturday of the month, so just a few times a year, they have a sale on the clearence fabric too so it's great to get quilt backs.

I used to live in Bountiful, and have grandparents that still do, and I had no idea they had such a cute quilt shop! I will definitely have to make a point of stopping there next time we go up. Thanks for sharing! :)

How nice you can visit your dd AND get in a visit to a great quilt store. That apple quilt looks adorable and OHhhhhhhhh, Taxi fabric!! I love that line!!
That man chair should be much more plush and comfortable if they want the wife to stay longer and spend more. Something he could fall asleep in ya know??? ;)

The store is right off of the 2600 s exit in Bountiful. You turn right when comming off the exit, go though two lights, and its on your righthand side in a strip mall called "Colonial Square"

I love this quilt store! They seem to be just brimming with every style/color/idea imaginable!

Nanette - You just made my day! I do believe that beautiful apple quilt is the "cherry" quilt from my book. What fun to see it made up!...

I love that shop too! They always have the most beautiful quilts hanging on that brick wall! And how right you are about how bright it is in the shop. It is just the perfect place to shop, isn't it?!

Nanette - You know that lovely old Singer machine you saw at the shop? I sold it to them when they first opened cuz I thought it would look so nice there for a display. I sure didn't have room at my house for it. Glad it gave you pleasure to see it.

Beautiful store - I think I would fight you for that beautiful sewing machine though! Of course, they might notice the commotion, so we'd have be very quiet. LOL That apple quilt is adorable, and I love the yellow and black combo. I think every quilt store should have a "man chair" - my hubby says time stands still when he's in a quilt shop!
